The computer programs you write usually need some sort of interaction with the user: if it’s a web application, they can, for example, press a button or type something into a text box. In C++, a user can communicate with the program through the console. You can enter information and receive information back from the program, all inside the little black (or white) console that opens up when you run it.

In this video, you’ll find out how to write instructions in your code that allow users to interact with it!

Start coding on and apply what you’ve learnt here. You’ll find many other programming concepts presented there and you’ll find yourself able to write your own programs in no time! Be careful to watch this video till the end and understand how reading input works, because you’ll use it in most of the programs you write. Sign up now and get coding!
